Who prepares our workforce- Our K-12 education system? If we do not provide a world class educational opportunity for ALL Arkansans, we are decreasing our chances of attracting industry to Arkansas. Now more than ever, we are seeing how a prepared workforce matters and how when we do not have a workforce, it impacts our business community. The investment in our K-12 system is vital now more than ever and this is not limited to just our students.
In Arkansas, we are losing teachers to surrounding states because of better opportunities afforded to them. This is not only related to teacher pay, but policies that impact teachers negatively such as Fair Teacher Dismissal and the ability for teachers to participate in Collective Bargaining. Teachers are a vital part of our educational ecosystem, and we cannot provide a world class education without them.
